After Thierry Stern, the president of Patek Philippe, announced the cessation of production for the blue Nautilus Ref. 5711-1A-010 in January 2021, prices on the secondary market skyrocketed to the lower six-figure range. Similar predictions have been made for the final Nautilus 5711 series, which set out to celebrate the end of this iconic watch. Fitted with an olive green dial and the calibre 26-330 S C, in its base form introduced at the Basel fair 2019 and also featured in its predecessor, the stainless steel Ref. 5711/1A-014 acts as a fitting last hurrah for arguably Patek Philippe’s most sought after series. With it’s routes reaching back to 2006, ones releasing to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Nautilus line, a chapter of watch history will soon come to an end.
